Dan Orner has coached kicking & punting camps for the past 15 years, instructing at camps such as UNC Chapel Hill, Virginia Tech, University of South Carolina, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, Appalachian State and is the lead evaluator of kickers and punters for Team USA Football. In both 2011,2012, & 2014 Dan Orner Kicking & Punting students were named as both the kicker and punter for the East in the Army All American game. Dan has a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a focus on Biomechanics.
Dan's Career Highlights:
2003: Was North Carolina’s starting place-kicker in all 12 games, connected on 12 of 16 field goals and 35 of 35 point after attempts. Orner started the season on the Lou Groza watch list and was the ACC player of the week 3 times. Finished the season with a long of 51 yards and missed only 2 field goals under 40 yards.
2002: Was North Carolina’s starting place-kicker in all 12 games, connected on 9 of 14 field goal tries and 26 of 27 point after attempts. Tied an NCAA record with three field goals of at least 50 yards in Carolina’s 30-22 victory at Syracuse Broke the school record with a 55-yard field goal against the Orangemen and also hit 51- and 52-yard field goals in that game Connected on a 47-yard field goal as time expired to give Carolina a dramatic 23-21 win over Duke and preserve Carolina’s 12-game winning streak over the Blue Devils The game-winning kick was the first by a Tar Heel since Lee Gliarmis beat Maryland in 1983 Hit a 47-yard field goal in the win at Arizona State and made a 49-yarder vs. Clemson Made 26 extra point attempts in a row until missing his final attempt in the win at Duke. Only missed one field goal inside 40 yards (32) other misses were from 44, 49, 50 and 53 yards.

Warwick Valley High School, Warwick NY
Dan played football, soccer, baseball, and track, earning 16 letters at Warwick High School and was voted the school’s best male athlete. As a senior, Dan was one of the top 50 football players in New York, earned first-team All-Tri-County honors, was an all-state selection, and was selected to compete in the Governor’s Bowl All-Star Game. As a senior Dan made 8 of 10 field goals (only misses were from 52 and 58 yards hitting the upright on both occasions), including a career-best 49-yarder with 80% of his kick offs resulted in touchbacks. In High School Dan was coached by Greg Sirico and John Garcia. In addition to football, Dan earned all-state honors in soccer as a junior and was all-state in baseball as a senior.
